ICE is formed when liquid water is cooled below 32 degrees F and appears in nature as snowflakes, hail, icicles, glaciers and polar ice caps.
or skated on thin ice?
Here's a joke in case you ever have to "break the ice"...
What sits on the bottom of the ICE cold Arctic Ocean and shakes?
( A nervous wreck )
Did you know that it would be possible to start a fire with ice if it was carved into a lens shape and then used to focus the sun's rays onto kindling?
Food for thought: If it was ZERO degrees yesterday, and it is twice as cold today, just how cold is it?

Ice is as pretty as it can be deadly. The trees always look like their filled with diamonds when the branches are covered with ice....but the slippery pavement always accompanies that......
I think its so beautiful when ice forms on the trees like that. But only if you can stay indoors until it melts. It is beautiful for pictures.
The ice looks so pretty in those pictures.
How can something so beautiful to look at be so cold and dangerous? I love the way ice looks, especially first thing in the morning, but I don't have to drive in it.
Ice is so dangerous.
Lovely pictures though.
Happy Thursday!

UNSPOKEN BREAKFAST FOR THE SOUL
Your photos are very pretty. But ice on the roads is very scary. Sometimes, too, it damages all the old trees. Broken limbs and all. I would just want to stay in and look.
I remember the winters in Holland when we were skating a lot.
love the ice pics :D
We had a lot of Ice for skating this year. Love your post
As a teenager in Ohio I used to love to skate on my Grandmothers frozen pond.
We had a few close calls with ice cracking.
I enjoyed your sparkling ice-y pictures very much.
And I'm glad to see that other people use silly jokes, too!
Cute post!
A+
Your photos are beautiful, especially the first with those icy branches against that gorgeous blue sky. But boy, it sure looks cold! I prefer to see my ice from afar :) Kathy
I love the picture with those icy branches shining so brightly in the sun!
Hi Jacque,
I love to look at ice but not drive on it. I've been a desert rat for too long now.
Hope all is well.
Big hugs,
Barb
Your post made me smile. I love all the "ice" idioms, etc; and things to think about. I also liked the "nervous wreck." Your pictures are lovely.
scary but beautiful in its own cold way......
thanks for the ice post-- ice can be so beautiful. I always appreciated those ice filled tree images during my Colorado years, but I don't think I am going to miss the ice coated roads!
Oh! The ice photos you posted are exquisite!
Blessings & Aloha!
