Tsali Notch Vineyards

Bonjour from Campagne Maison

Tsali Notch Vineyards

On our way home from a local favorite flea market of ours, the DH and I drove out to the Tsali Notch Vineyards located 1.5 miles off HWY 68 at Madisonville. I wasn't prepared for what my eyes were about to see!

Thirty (30) acres, twenty-one (21) miles, 5450 vines of five (5) varieties of muscadine grapes. Row after row after row. The sky was clear blue, the temperature was in the high 60's, and the wind was blowing right into my face as I snapped pictures. The fragrance of all that ripening fruit still lingers in my mind and I remain at a loss to truly describe the smell.

Was I really in Tennessee? I thought things like THIS http://tsalinotch.com only existed in Italy and France. (NOTE TO SELF: YOU really do have to get out more!!) Their website offers more pictures and information about the vineyard. In addition to supplying to commerical wineries, they offer "pick your own" to indiviuals.

Thanks for stopping by the farmhouse for a visit today. We love having company.

Au revoir,

Wineries are popping up all over the place - but I never imagined Tennessee would have one!

Yes, there are SEVERAL wineries in East TN. No, the place was closed when we were there so we didn't get to go into the winery. We have been to Striker Premium Winery in Athens, TN. They have a gorgeous little park with a creek for picnics, etc. and a gift shop. I enjoy going there.

I assume East TN has the climate for growing grapes.

I adore the winery's in Tennessee. When my son was assigned to Fort Campbell, Kentucky, we would always visit a local winery in Tennessee. There was a delightful winery near the installation that would offer free jazz concerts on summer evenings. The entire community would show up and it was just lovely. Sea Witch

Hey Jacque , I was going to send you an e-mail and tell you how to get there ( to the Amish ) but your email link didn't work for me.I replied back to your comment but I think it doesn't work if it says "no comment reply " beside your name. If your still online email me back. My email is on my blog , in my sidebar about half way down .

Dear Jacque,
It looks wonderful there. did you buy a case or two??
I am so excited to tell you that my PIF gift arrived today, thank you so very much.
The table topper is fab, so bright & cheery & roosters (!).
The Christmas tree bauble is exquisite. I may have to change the tree's colour scheme this year just to showcase your
beautiful creation.
I'll be posting about these treasures at the weekend and Paying It Forward.
a bientot
